A Nightmare Scenario….

While the democrats are preoccupied about what to do about the Florida and Michigan Primaries, and the candidates are trying to face down claims about crazy ministers and spokespeople on both sides, McCann seems to be taking advantage of the opportunity to build up his playbook.

Without realizing it, we are giving him and the “nasty 527’s” and the dirty tricksters more than enough ammunition to raise the decibels to an unbearable level during the remaining months after what may be not only an unruly Convention but a gathering that may cause the walls to implode if this delegate matter is not resolved, and expeditiously!

If the Super delegates assign their votes to whoever is not the leader at that time, expect the fireworks that may well extend into final voting at the polls.

If that scenario were to play out, it could lead to the demise of the democratic party as we know it.

Hopefully, Howard Dean understands that we are playing with fire and cooler heads will prevail.

But answer me; “Which candidate will be willing to admit that he or she is behind in the vote? Or does not have the momentum to win?”

Not Hillary; not Obama.

So despite the conventional wisdom, there is a gnawing sense that no fat lady will sing this time around and that the Convention may turn into something we haven’t seen since the days of the smoke filled rooms.

But there will be one difference: There will be no one in control.

Imagine that if you can.

If that were to happen: Count on chaos running supreme and a sharp stick in the eye for the Democratic Party per se.

As of now, the signs are not good. Increasingly, the candidates are combative and in the six weeks to go ‘til Pennsylvania, do not expect to see a diminution of the antagonisms that are running high and turning off many on both sides….

Hillary’s team is combative; and it is beginning to appear as if Obama is going to have to get a lot tougher in the days and weeks ahead.

Meanwhile, John McCain continues to spout his Antediluvian message of…”The Surge is Good, God Save the Surge!” like some deranged lunatic on Times Square while republicans of every description rush to their check books.

If this should happen, don’t expect a groundswell of support for the Democrats.

Perhaps now would be a good time to conjure up a witches brew….

Boil and bubble….boil and bubble!
