A McCain-Romney Ticket?

It looks like they are talking about the prospect of teaming McCain up with of all people, Mitt Romney which would be a compromise of sorts to the financial conservatives who are worried about McCain’s loyalty to conservative causes.

On the surface, that doesn’t seem like too bad an idea.

Romney looks good, he knows economics and he’s good at false humility.

I don’t know how many times he uttered the word Ronald Reagan at the West Coast debate in apparent homage to the “great one…” who perhaps was not so great after all if measured in terms of any kind of results for the average American.

After all, he screwed up on the ‘secret government,’ grew government as never before and redistributed income so that most families had to run twice as fast just to keep up….

But by today’s terms, Reagan looks like some kind of finalist on American Idol.

He’s the ultimate panjandrum of what good government is supposed to be.

How soon we forget.

Nevertheless, McCain and Romney are hardly cut out of the same piece of cloth.

Would Romney bust his chops to see McCain win?

I hardly think so.

And McCain frankly can’t stand the sight of Romney. Would he saddle himself with one so loathsome for the sake of a pat on the back by the Conservatives?

Who knows?

McCain has been known to kiss up before.

Anyway while the dems are practicing their hari-kari, the republicans have a lot of time to work things out…..

And who knows, a McCain Romney ticket might prove formidable.
