The Perfect Record

Supreme Court nominee: Trust Me!

PRESIDENT;Well, we have a great candidate for the Supreme Court...

PRESS: But, Mr. Presidentm she has no experience as a judge; therefore, she has no record of what she stands for...

PRESIDENT: Therefore, she has perfect credentials. No background at all. No bad decisions.
Can you imagine? Nobody can attack somebody who has no record of saying anything about anything….

PRESS: Could you say that again?.

PRESIDENT: You’re looking at someone with a golden record. Her record is better than all of the justices combined. She never made a bad decision.

PRESS: Huh? But what about her experience….

PRESIDENT: Oh, she has great experience. She has worked for
me for the past several years as White House Counsel.

PRESS:Oh, that's great. Then I suppose you'll provide us with a record of what she's accomplished.

PRESIDENT: Sorry, can't do that. Presidential privilege, you know.

PRESS: I see. So, you mean that according to you she is perfectly qualified.
And Congress should take your word for it.

PRESIDENT: Hey, whose word is better? Would I lie?

PRESS: But what about the media’s obligation to the American people

PRESIDENT: Don’t make me laugh. Didn't they put me here based on trust...

PRESS: I guess you're right.

PRESIDENT: Sure, I'm right. Take my word for it....

PRESS: Hmm…Interesting angle: The perfect record that nobody can question…

PRESIDENT: Now you’re talking…
