Psychological Screening for Candidates Should be Mandatory

While everyone is criticizing Obama for saying what he did, according to the Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Joe Biden, the policy is already laid out on the books that if a country fails to police its own and fails to stamp out terrorism, and the president feel that terrorism is targeted at us, we are well within our rights to take the necessary actions. According to Joe, he was surprised that Hillary and Senator Dodd did not know that….

And while the Republicans are having a field day with the Democrat’s back and forth and their discussion of the issues, they seem to have a blind side when it comes to their own.

It is clear from remarks already made that the Republicans have no policy when it comes to policing their own.

So far, there have been few if any comments regarding remarks made by Repulicans during their own forums and debates. For example, at the last debate, Tom Tancredo, a congressman running for president, suggested that America should bomb Mecca and Medina if it would end the War.

Excuse me?

And nobody said anything.

Yes, and Tancredo stands behind what he said which is sheer lunacy.

Yes, if we want biblical war as outlined in Prophecy, that’s a good way to start.

His comments have already been picked up by the Middle Eastern media and flashed around the world. One cleric has also said that the only solution for someone attacking their sacred shrines would be death.

One’s mind is boggled to think that any serious candidate for higher office could make such an irresponsible remark and that his own party did not come down on him and quickly.

This was not just a throw-away line, Tancredo meant it and it was the scariest phrase I’ve ever heard repeated by a Congressional representative.

Wars have started for less—especially in the Middle East, where a cartoon would be enough to set off an imbroglio of the worst kind….

To suggest such brash action, is beyond the pale.

Unfortunately, it is reminiscent of other irresponsible remarks by Republicans vying for office including the attacks by the “Swiftboaters” on Kerry, inferring that he was less than hero. Or the remarks made against McCain in the 2000 elections when he was accused of a fathering an illegitimate child.

By not stepping up to the plate, the republicans have confirmed that they have learned nothing and that when it comes to this election it is going to more of the same.

Too bad, they preach morals and act as immoral as they come…
