Keeping The MIlitary Industrial Complex Humming!
The High Cost of Staying Tactical:
Our gurus in the Pentagon would have you believe that unless we had the most advanced black-box fighter in the world, the enemy would chew us up and spit us out. We should have learned a lesson from Russia about "keeping up" at the expense of everything else, but we didn't. Now, we are building "assets" that can take on up to 16 different missions at the same time and shoot down the enemy before they even see us. That is warfare in the current age. However, we had a few planes in our arsenal already that had no competition, so why did we go bezerka with the new F23. That's a question the military historians will have to answer; it might have something to do with the fact that the Military Industrial Complex has to be fed regularly or it will withold funding from the Republican Party in power.
Here's what's currently happening with the new F23 fighter that does everything except wash your windows. Because of the cost, the government has had to cut back its original order from over 200 to under 100 planes. Can you imagine over 200 million dollars for a single plane.
What could you do with just the cost of a single plane? Just a single plane and we've ordered nearly one hundred!.
For the cost of one plane, You could feed and care for 600 families for an entire year ...you could take care of 8 million African kids for a month... How many wells could you dig? How many sheep can you buy starving families?
How many textbooks about people finding common ground and getting along could you buy? 10 million school books Or you could probably buy nearly 10,000 mobile homes for needy families...
All we've been doing for the last six years with all of our money, our surplus, is to bomb the living hell out of everyone and make enemies in the world.
What do we have to show for a 400 BILLION military budget?
What do we have to show for a 200 billion antimissile shield?
Why didn't we take that money and put it into jobs...
Why didn't we take that money and put it into building friendships around the world?
Why didn't we spend all of that money on helping AMerica's schools?
Why didn't we use our money to help people?
This is all at the same time curious and despicable.
We think about nothing but War and Oil and the vast bulk of Americans buy into it.
Five years after 9/11 we still don't have safe borders; we still don't have government agencies that work together despite the spending of hundreds of millions of dollars; we still don't have in the hands of first responders phones that work...
And the people torn from their homes after the hurricane are still living in hovels that are too dangerous to live in...
And the kids are still shocked by what they saw...
And the old people still with the memories of a government that aimed guns at them in their time of need....
So much for America's generosity...
We should all be on guard because the future holds more surprises for us...
Meanwhile we keep shrinking the middle class and we keep asking them for more to build bigger planes and bigger bombs. It's all so insane.
