"Despite of all of the convolutions, investments and diligence of the other side, here is the incredible irony:

"DESPITE THE OVERWHELMING REPUBLICAN EFFORT, THEIR BRILLIANT TACTICS, OVERWHELMING COHESION AND DOMINATION OF THE MEDIA, THE DEMOCRATS DID VERY WELL AND ALMOST PULLED OFF A WIN. AND THAT’S WITH THE OTHER GUYS COUNTING THE VOTE (A Whole Other Issue!)…

"IN SHORT, THEY NEED ALL THESE TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES JUST TO GAIN PARITY. REPUBLICANS ARE NOT SUPERMEN; THEY DO NOT HAVE A MANDATE TO RULE ANYMORE THAN WE DO.

"That’s a big mouthful: With all of their spending and investment, it’s only brought them a small advantage over the Democrats. Enough to win an election, true; give or take some fiddling with the machines; but not enough to hold back a cohesive and organized democratic frontal assault! What does that tell you?


"So, when measured against what really counts—the numerical vote—we are already t-h-a-t close! Consider that in the election before last, we had the numerical vote and Bush only won because the recount was cut off and the Supreme Court got involved combined with the actions of one of the slickest legal teams on record under that master deal-maker Baker who bullied his way through whether or not the data supported his arguments.

"LESSON: Clearly, strong arm tactics carry more weight than the facts. Remember: History is a record by the winners!

"The point is that Democrats must take a page from the Republican Play Book: We must fight fire with fire.
If the Republicans play hard-ball; we must learn to play double hard-ball! If the Republicans use gutter tactics, we must use tougher gutter tactics. The race is not for those of faint heart!
