"Democracy Fatally Injured by 59 Cent Box-Cutters!"

ARE WE GOING TO ALLOW EIGHTEEN MEN ARMED WITH 59 CENT BOX-CUTTERS TO CHANGE THE WORLD?

What the hell is wrong with us?

Why are we sacrificing our freedoms so that there will not be another attack against men armed with box-cutters? Will all of these restrictions and new security organizations change things one iota?

Heck no!

Therefore, ask yourself have all the sacrifices we've made over the years been worth it?

Are we inch closer to being safer than we were three or four years ago?
Not when our first responders can't even communicate with each other...and our borders are porous....and enemies can walk across from one country to another with nobody stopping them...

The answer is clearly, no!

So what have we got?

What we've got is a lot of sacrifice on our side and no discernible gains. Let's run a quick inventory: Consider, that in the light of 9/11,
We gave up our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, a system of checks and balances, gave our Chief Executive the power to make War, and we diverted our surpluses to the making of war.

We have made it possible for a central government to exercise more control than any other government in history. We have allowed our government to change the laws. We have American citizens sitting in prison without having access to legal advice. We have given up our rules pertaining to Posse Comitatus and now allow American troops to be stationed on American soil. We have given up our First Amendment Rights. We have sacrificed habeas corpus. There is now secret snooping on our bills and our conversations. Now, there are Fusion organizations whose intent is unknown yet what we do know is that they facilitate spying on America's own people.

Add it up. Here's the subtotal: We have never been more divided as a people. We have built new enemies around the world. We will declare war at the drop of a pin whether the reasons are true or not.
We have become a country where religious extremists decide policy and employers get to call the shots. There is no more objective media and our jobs are being shipped out. Our government has spent hundreds of billions of dollars to eliminate one bureaucracy because it wasn't big enough and created a new mega-bureacracy that still doesn't work--a bureacracy that is dedicated to merging forty different security agencies so that they will work together. Only, they don't because they have totally different cultures and the FBI doesn't talk to the CIA and vice versa.

We can't even take care of one of our premier cities no matter how much tax monies are involved. And nations like Bangladesch and India are sending aid, two of the poorest countries in the world. Sad? It's pathetic! How sad is it when America, the bright shining light, needs to attract charity from the poorest countries in the world because we can't seem to make New Orleans whole again.

And in the meantime, our government contractors, given billions of dollars of work without submitting bids, lose 9 billion dollars and are annoyed when asked for an accounting. In the meantime, our efforts to bring democracy to the poor blinded people of Islam hasn't a hope of working under the purview of our own brain dead leadership.

God save us!
