Pot Calling the Kettle Black?

I don't know if anyone remembers the genesis of today's
problems but they happen to lie at the foot of Mr. Gingrich's
Contract with America that triggered off some of the events
that put our moral self-righteousness into question.

Should we forget that in an eruption of self interest, Mr. Gingrich
in his conflict of interest with the Devil Incarnate, Rupert Murdoch,
who arranged for the publication of Mr. Gingrich's tome, A Contract with
America, was privvy to a grand up front advance. In return for what?
We later learned that Mr. Murdoch through Mr. Gingrich managed to
twist the rules of the sacrosanct FCC to accommodate Mr. Murdoch's
growth plans, and in the process, deny to Americans the diversity they
richly deserve in their media...

Today, all Americans suffer the consequences. Fewer than ten companies
control what we see and hear. And with the power of the government to
control through "access," funding and licensing what the media broadcasts or
prints, Americans seldom get to see or hear what they need to make
an informed decision. This is a travestry and another nail in the demise of
democracy thanks to Mr. Gingrich and the former head of the FCC,
Mr. Powell.
